Sky Signing Milk
I've been teaching Sky sign language and she now signs milk every time she wants some. It melts my heart when I see her doing this.
She can also say 3 words now: Mama, Dada, and ball.

Simple Pleasures
Sawyer and I baked chocolate chip cookies last week after school. He loves baking and is always asking to make cookies or cake. We used Martha Stewart's recipe this time with Ghirardelli chocolate chips. When we bake together, I have him measure out the flour and sugar with measuring cups. He also scrapes the butter into the mixing bowl using a spatula. I usually do the wet ingredients (vanilla, eggs) since they tend to be a little messier. Sawyer is also in charge of turning on the stand mixer. He loves watching all the ingredients mix together in the bowl! Afterward, we scoop up the cookie dough together and place it on the cookie sheet. Once they are in the oven, he watches them intently through the glass door. He can barely stand waiting to eat them. It's such a simple thing, but gives us so much pleasure! Sky was sitting in her high chair watching us the whole time.
Sky 9 months
It's hard to believe Sky is 9 months old already. It's true what they say, the 2nd child grows up quicker. She calls me Mama now, her 1st word. I love hearing her say it.
Sky has been eating all kinds of table foods from yogurt to Cajun turkey. She seems to like spicy foods and I have to wonder if it's because I ate buckets of Chirashi hot sauce while pregnant with her.
Sawyer and Sky love each other to pieces. Sawyer calls out for Sky every morning 1st thing and she gets super happy when she sees him. In some ways, having 2 kids is easier because they keep each other entertained. He likes to refer to himself as her protector.
She smiles and laughs all the time. Oh how I love this age and wish she'd stay small forever!

Sky standing
Sky is now lifting herself up to stand. Most of the time, she needs help getting into a standing position, but once she's there, she stays up by herself. It makes her so happy to be able to do this!

Catching Up
Sawyer, Sky, and setting up a new home has kept me unbelievably busy these past few months. As a result, I have fallen way behind in posting.
Back in October, Sawyer wanted to be a cowboy again for Halloween. So, we dressed him up in his Daddy's old costume. Here he is at his preschool's Halloween parade/party. Sawyer's best friends are Matteo (chef costume) and Nate (Pikachu costume). The teachers refer to them as the 3 musketeers. It's so cute how they are 4-5 years old and are as thick as thieves.
In November, right before Thanksgiving, Sawyer's school had Heritage Night. The kids sang, "It's a Small World" on stage.
We spent Thanksgiving with the Grandparents. This was the 1st Thanksgiving we've ever spent with them. I love that we can now spend all holidays with family. Instead of having to get on a plane, we are now just a 2 hour drive away from Cliff's parents.

I was hoping to take a really nice picture of the kids for our Christmas card this year, but my attempt failed miserably. This pretty much sums up how things went:
I did manage to get a couple of good ones.
We got Sawyer an awesome play kitchen for Christmas. I adore this kitchen! We spent Christmas Eve at home.
We spent Christmas day at the Grandparents.
Cliff took the train to Philadelphia for work in November. Here is Sawyer picking his Dad up at the train station. It was his first time seeing a real train up close in action.
In early December, Sawyer was in his school's Christmas Special. There were so many kids there, it was impossible to get them all into one frame. Unfortunately, my pictures that night didn't turn out so well. I only have a few to share.

Then, rang in the new year with a few good friends.
