Sawyer was so cute in our Baby and Me class today. During song time, he got up from my lap and walked over to his teacher Hannah, hugged her, and plopped right down in her lap! He stayed there the entire time we sang songs and rocked back and forth to the music. He must have missed her. Hannah couldn't get over it! Originally, we had signed up for Jambooda on Wednesdays, but decided to cancel and extend Baby and Me instead for another 6 weeks since we love the class and group so much. I"m really happy we did! Sawyer has gotten use to this group and clearly enjoys going every week.

Sawyer also went w/ me to my doctor's appointment. When he saw my midwife Rachel examining me, he started to cry and scream because he thought she was hurting me. Rachel said that he probably associates going to the doctor with pain because he is so use to being prodded and poked w/ shots during his visits. Poor little guy. It was really heartwarming though to see how protective he was of me. He didn't want anyone hurting his Mama!

Here he is giving out kisses and hugs. Usually we have to chase him down to hug him! Our little man has us wrapped around his finger.

Fun at home, baby gym

I love taking pictures of Sawyer playing happily at home. He has been melting my heart all weekend. Saturday, he sweetly waltzed in front of me as I laid on the sofa, smiled, and planted a big wet kiss on my lips. I was ready to die right there! I tried to grab him to hug him, but he ran away too fast.


This past Thurs., I took Sawyer to Gymnastics Plus, a huge children's gym that turns into a baby gym 3 times a week. This place is fantastic! It's gigantic and 100% baby safe. Sawyer can run around freely in there without me having to worry about him getting hurt. It was fun to watch him jump/walk on the trampolines. We met up with my other Mom friends and their babies there.

This past Wednesday, we had another play date at the Schoolhouse Children's Museum. Here's Sawyer and Jaiden.

In class Wednesday, Sawyer was mesmerized by this little baby girl's chubby cheeks. He kept wanting to pinch them. Her name is Francesca. She's 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Cuban. Her brother Fracois is Sawyer's classmate.

Sawyer no longer looks like a baby anymore. Where did the time go? These pictures were taken today. He loves being outdoors and will take my hand and lead me to the front door to tell me he wants to go outside.





Sawyer has been attending class for the past 5 weeks. Every Wednesday, we've been going to "Baby and Me" class. It's great for Sawyer as he gets to be around other kids in a classroom setting. There are approximately 10 kids in his class. The class is highly interactive and consists of creative play, crafts, and music centering on developing social skills and self-expression. Sawyer seems to love it and so do I! Tomorrow is our final week of "Baby and Me".

Next week, we start a new class called, Jambooda. It's a musical class where Sawyer can jump, sing, shake, shimmy, twirl, and stomp to his heart's content! I can't wait to see what this is like!

After class last week, another Mom invited us across the street to the Children's Schoolhouse Museum. The museum is an old schoolhouse with various "scenes" for kids to play around in. They have a Dairy Barn scene, a Dr.'s office scene, a General Store, a Main Street scene, and much more. Sawyer loved it there. We are planning to go again tomorrow with a bunch of other moms & kids. Hopefully, I can get some better pictures.

First haircut by Mom

I cut Sawyer's hair for the 1st time last week, nothing major, just trimmed the back. I resisted cutting his hair for the longest time because I kind of like it long. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of cutting his hair when it was wet. So now, it's a little too short and uneven in the back. I was too scared to cut the front, top, and side parts of his hair for fear that he'd move. We'll be getting a real haircut soon.

I saved every strand of his darling baby hairs. They're being kept in a blue porcelain keepsake box. There's also a 2nd box just waiting for his 1st teeth.

Sawyer loves dancing, Enya, and vacuums

Cliff and Sawyer were watching music videos on Youtube. Sawyer loves music and will dance every time he hears it, even when he's sitting down! He bops his head back and forth and swings from side to side, front to back. It's hilarious! He loves to show off his dancing skills and never tires of it.


I bought a new bed for Enya. She loves it and so does Sawyer. He wants to share it with her, but she won't have it. All Sawyer wants is to get close to Enya. He loves her and is always trying to pet her and feed her his food.

Finally, all to myself!

Sawyer's favorite toy right now is his vacuum. He loves pushing that thing around from one end of the house to the other. My vacuum also happens to be purple so we match.

Blanket and Snapea Crisps

For the past 2 nights, Sawyer has started using his blanket at night to sleep. By this, I mean he intentionally puts his blanket on top of himself now instead of it just being tossed to the side. It seems like he's finally figured out what it's for!

His new favorite snack is Snapea Crisps. The other night he was sitting on the couch shoveling them in his mouth. I loved seeing him do it because he's not a big eater and I worry about that sometimes. He was also feeding them to Cliff. It was the cutest thing!

Sawyer has been communicating verbally a lot with me lately. If I talk to him or ask him a question, he responds back in baby babble. He thinks he's talking, but I can't understand a single thing he's saying. I wish I knew what he was trying to tell me. He has also learned to say no by shaking his head when I ask him, "Do you want more?", referring to food.

Lots of Updates!

Happy New Year everyone! This year is off to a great start! My goal is to update more this year. I've been seriously neglecting the updates. Tomomi has threatened to cut me off if I don't update more.

Today Sawyer and I met up with Shelbie, Denise, Staci, and Staci's friend at the mall. We took our boys and girls there to play in the Fruit Pit. The Fruit Pit is a massive play area for kids with giant fruit you can climb on. They love it!

Afterward, we had a sit down lunch at Too Jay's. It took us a good 20 minutes just to get situated with 8 kids. They all behaved so well at lunch! Believe it or not, there were no breakdowns and no tears were shed. We were all so proud!

Sawyer tried French Onion soup for the 1st time and enjoyed it. In the past 2 weeks, he's really opened up to trying new foods.

Sawyer is such a funny boy. I turned around for a few seconds this afternoon to write an email and caught him sitting in Enya's bed. I laughed myself silly! He has never done this before. Enya was such a good sport. She allowed him to share her sacred throne and even licked him as if he were her baby. Yes, Enya's bed is filthy. It gets like that within 2 days of being washed.



Earlier this week Sawyer and I went to the zoo with Jean and her son Clinton. The boys had a blast running around the zoo. Whenever Sawyer would see Clinton out of his stroller, he wanted to be out too. I was able to get some good shots of them together.




There's a carousel at the zoo. Sawyer loves the music they play there. He danced and danced until the music stopped. I think we may have a future musician in our hands. He loves music so much and never fails to break out in a dance every time he hears it!



Cliff flew to CA earlier this week on a business trip to Google. He brought me home some Chinese slippers from SF to wear around the house. Sawyer watched me putting them on. As soon as I took them off, he grabbed one from me and slid it on his own foot. He loves to copy me!



We had a fantastic Christmas in VA this year! It's always nice to be around lots of family. Sawyer always ends up being the star of the show. I think it's important for him to grow up remembering Christmas with his grandparents and extended family. Grandma and Grandpa let him run around their house unrestricted. A big treat up until this point! He also loved running around their humungous backyard.

Here are a few pictures from the 777 I took. I really did take 777 pictures! Unfortunately, most of them didn't turn out well. Also, Sawyer's face is all bruised up in every. single. pic. Bruises were caused by him banging his head on the crib in protest of bedtime a few days earlier.
