Playground Fun

I take Sawyer to our favorite playground several times a week. We love this park! It is very well done and only about a mile from our house. There's something for everyone here: a playground, a skate park, volleyball courts, baseball field, soccer field, running track, etc. and the grounds are very well taken care of.

Sawyer's favorite thing is hanging out at the skate park. Whenever we get to the playground, he always takes my hand and leads me over to the bleachers at the skate park instead. His favorite thing is watching the skaters skate the half pipe. Sometimes I think he prefers watching them than he does playing in the park. Unfortunately, the skate park was closed off the day we went so no pictures of that until next time.

Swimming at the YMCA

Yesterday, we took Sawyer swimming at the Y. When we first got to the pool, he refused to let go of Cliff and held on for dear life. Even though he's been once before, the setting is still fairly new to him. Fortunately, after working with him for awhile, he loosened up quite and bit and ended up having a blast! His favorite thing was holding on to the kickboard while Cliff pushed him. He would not part with the board. Eventually, we did get him to ride on Cliff's back and he ended up loving that too!

There was a waterslide there that Cliff and I took turns going on while the other stayed in the pool and watched with Sawyer. He loved seeing us shoot into the water! My 2 boys had so much fun playing together in the water, neither of them wanted to leave. :-) We'll definitely be going back soon!

Little Computer Geek and another day at the beach

Sawyer loves his little laptop. He saw this at Target several weeks ago and had to have it. He has learned how to work a mouse. He loves to get on our computers and scroll webpages now. We have a little computer geek in the making.


We went to the beach this past Sunday and Sawyer was terrified every time Cliff jumped in the water. He thought the waves were going to carry him away.

Stuffed animals and car

Sawyer has bonded with 2 of his stuffed animals; a blue bear and a dog named Ein. He loves giving them kisses and snuggling up with them at night when he sleeps. In the mornings, when we carry him from his crib to our bed, he brings them along. Apparently, stuffed animals serve as a valuable part of a toddler's development by exposing them to everyday concepts in a fun way.

Sawyer has learned how to look at pictures of himself on the digital camera screen. Here he is having a fit because I wouldn't show him his picture right after I took a shot.


This little car use to belong to Cliff when he was little. It was one of his favorite toys and now it's Sawyer's. He loves this thing and rides all over the house with it. He can also store stuff in the seat.
