Sawyer and Nanny

I love this picture above of Sawyer and his Nanny (Grandma). Sawyer loves her to pieces. They had so much fun together when she was here visiting.

Out for the First Time

Yesterday, I ventured out for the first time with both kids in tow. It was much easier than I thought it would be! Sawyer is at the age where he's easy to take out and Sky slept the whole time. Our first outing was to Target, then Publix. Sawyer wanted to help out by pushing Sky's stroller. He has been a great big brother so far, very loving and generous with the kisses and hugs. He can get a little too enthusiastic though and I have to kindly remind him to use gentle hands.

Eternal Love

I am overwhelmed with love for Sky. I have waited a long time for her to arrive. After an unexpected setback, 8 more months of trying to conceive, and a tumultuous pregnancy, here she is. My beautiful daughter. I have never felt a deeper love than the love I feel for my children. It is powerful and eternal and nothing short of amazing. My 2 little "gifts". I will forever be thankful that this imperfect body was capable of creating something so perfect. Not once, but twice.

Brother and Sister

Sawyer loves Sky so much. He's captivated by her. He loves to hug and kiss her and compare his hands and feet to her. He's fascinated at how small she is. Whenever he hears her cry, he runs to see what's wrong.

Introducing Sky Andrews

Our beautiful baby daughter was born May 13, 2011 at 1:15 PM. She weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 20 1/4 inches. I went into labor at 6 AM that morning and was fully dilated by 1 PM. I pushed for 15 minutes before she made her appearance. Labor and delivery went extremely well and we're now back at home. The picture above was taken a few hours after birth. More pictures and details to follow.

Happy Mother's Day!

I am sitting on pins and needles waiting and waiting and waiting for my baby daughter to arrive. My due date isn't till this coming Friday, but I thought for sure the little one would be here by now. I cannot wait to see her beautiful face, this little person who I have already fallen so much in love with.

Cliff and Sawyer are super excited as well. Sawyer saw me leaving for my midwife appointment last week and when I returned home, he asked me if I had pushed ____ out yet. He has been referring to his sister by her first name for months now. He is so happy about becoming a big brother, it melts my heart every time I see his excitement.

My wonderful mother-in-law, Judy, is here. We are so thrilled and so relieved to have her here with us. She has had an overwhelming amount of demands on her plate recently, so it wasn't expected that she'd be here. We are very thankful for her presence and support. Sawyer loves her so much! Every morning he wakes up and runs excitedly into her bedroom or the kitchen to find her and stays by her side practically all day long.
