Quinoa

Sawyer is a super picky eater so I've been experimenting with different dishes for him to try. He has a preference for fresh food with lots of spices and flavors. Tonight I made him a quinoa dish with fresh mint, scallions, chopped up cauliflower, olive oil, salt and pepper. He loved it and polished off the entire ramekin. I am so happy and relieved to have found another healthy option to add to his menu.

iPhone addict, Kale Salad love

Sawyer is addicted to the iPhone! He has several games he's proficient at playing: Matching Zoo, Elmo's Monster Maker, Block Breaker, Tan Grams, Marble Merge, Glass Tower 2, I Water Flow, and a couple of puzzle games. Not only can he play games, but he can also scroll through screens, record his own voice & then listen to it, take pictures and browse through the picture gallery. He's already a techie at age 2 1/2, just like his Dad. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Speaking of the iPhone, the new one is coming out on the 24th and I am sooo excited! At first I wasn't sure about upgrading, but after watching the promos, I don't think I'll be able to resist.

Sawyer and I went to the Farmer's Market today and came home with 7 large bags of fresh, locally grown, produce for $58! I was so excited about how much money I saved.

Once we got home, I threw together a super delicious kale and avocado salad for lunch. The dressing has no oil it in, just fresh lemon juice and a little bit of soy sauce. I loved it so much, I'm going to have this for dinner too!

Random pictures from February

Our friend Drew came to visit us back in February. Sawyer calls him, "Do".
Play date at Shelbie's.

Sawyer and Enya

These were taken a few weeks ago right before Enya had her eye surgery.

Catching Up

I am way behind with pictures and posts. Last month was awesome! My best friend Tomomi flew in from Oregon to visit. I was excited to see her and even more excited for her to see Sawyer! The last time she laid eyes on him, he was 9 months old, an entire lifetime ago in baby years.

Sawyer, of course loved her. We went to store one day to buy flip flops and every time she would wander a few feet away to where he couldn't see her, he'd yell out, "Tomomi, Tomooooomi". His voice carries ridiculously far so everyone from the front to the back of the entire store could hear him. For a full week after she left, Sawyer would point to the air bed in the guest room/play room and say, "Tomomi's bed".

Walking to the beach.
In early April, my friend Nelson and his family flew in from CA to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. Their ship was sailing out of Miami so I got a chance to meet up with them one day. We decided to meet at the Miami Children's Museum. Nelson has 2 small children as well so it worked out great! The kids had so much fun at the musuem, they didn't want to leave!

Sawyer grocery shopping at kid's sized, Publix grocery store. Here he is picking out veggies to put in his cart.

Sawyer could not get enough of these instruments. He spent a good amount of time playing with them. I have a feeling he's going to be a musician. Whenever he gets around instruments his attention span seems to increase tenfold.

The museum was really something. You could spend all day there. I thought I had taken better pictures, but apparently not.

Hair

Memorial Day

Sawyer hurt his right foot last week and couldn't walk for a full week! We took him to the Dr. to find out what was wrong. X-rays and blood tests all came back fine. We think he either sprained it or dropped something on his foot. There were no bruises only slight swelling. He's limping a lot less today than yesterday. We're just glad he's finally walking again, poor baby!

He'd be asking to go to the beach and build sandcastles all week! We finally took him on Monday, once he started walking a little.
